Welcome to the
official website for ATP Tennis Pro Benedikt Dorsch
Benedikt Dorsch, the 2005 NCAA
Player of the year and 3-time Big 12 Conference player of the year,
completed his first full year on the ATP Tour ranked 208.
After winning a futures event in Texas, Dorsch reached the finals of
a Challenger in Spain and three challenger semifinals. However, his
major accomplishment was qualifying for his first Grand Slam at
Wimbledon in July 2006. These consistent results elevated his
ranking to a career-high 160 in September.
Following a lengthy layoff due to injury at the end of last
year, the fiery German tennis star has his eyes set on making
2007 his breakout year. As exciting as he is on
the tennis court, he truly believes his calm demeanor will carry
quality wins on to this years schedule.
The
2007 season has been a major step in the right direction for
Dorsch. He is currently ranked in the top 180 and
climbing his way up the rankings. Completing
a great run at the Dallas Challenger by making it to the finals
has proved he is over his fall injury and ready to dominate.
As the
spring season is set to open, Dorsch has his eyes on the big
tournaments ahead. With the Sony Ericsson Open
around the corner, the French Open being the next major
tournament and then making it back to Wimbledon, Dorsch is ready
to show the world what he can do to the competition.
